Kharchi Puja:

Kharchi Puja is one of the main festivals of Tripura, the pride of Tripura. Kharchi Puja is a worship of fourteen deities celebrated in the month of July at Agartala. It is a week long celebration at the temple premises where thousands of people attend the celebrations. The word Kharchi is derived from Khya meaning earth. This Kharchi puja is the worship of earth that sustains mankind with all her resources. Among the rituals, sacrifice of goats and pigeons at the alter is a usual feature of the festival.
