Bhishma Ashtami is the death anniversary of Bhishma Pitamah (from the epic Mahabharta)
who was given a boon to decide the time of his death. This festival is a reverence for his
loyalty, devotion and self-denial.

Jaya Ekadashi is a day devoted to Lord

birth of Lord Vishnu's first incarnation in the fish avatar. It is also the birthday of
Vrinda (the epitome of the Tulsi plant)and of Lord Kartikeya, the son of Shiva.
