Ghatiya
Also, Known as Namak Pare is a very popular recipe for the festival of Diwali as it provides a good break from the traditional sweets and looks good to serve.
Ghatiya is a salty snack, that can be made of white flour or Maida.
Ingediants:
Wheat Flour ½ Kg.
Water 1 ½ Cup
Ajwain (Bishop’s Weed, Carom seed) ½ Tbsp
Oil 2 Tbsp
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
Method of Preparation:
Sieve the wheat flour and rub oil to it.
Then to the sieved flour, add Ajwain (Carom seeds) and mix well.
Convert the flour into relatively hard dough.
Heat oil in a frying pan.
Roll out the dough into thick chapattis and cut them into slices.
Fry these slices in the hot oil.
Remove them from oil when golden brown in Color.
