Railway Week
To make transportation easier and to facilitate carriage of people from one place to another at a fast pace came up with the technological advancement. The innovation marked the advent of first train on April 16, 1853 between Boribundar and Thane which ran on 34 Kilometre long route.
Citations and cash awards were given to railway employees for their outstanding performance during the last one year on this occasion. A cultural programme was also presented in the evening. Other activities as laser show, Exhibition on Wheels Train and Steam Heritage Runs are also held.
