Christmas Celebrations in Disney World
Disney World is the ideal place to indulge in some high octane events during the holiday season. The dazzling holiday lights go up in November indicating the Christmas time. One can avail the rare chance of celebrating this wonderful time with a series of yuletide festivities that include enchanting fireworks, seasonal parades and glimmering display of fictional tales. Disney s Hollywood Studios is famous for the spectacular Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. One has to buy the regular park pass that also serves as ticket to a Disney Christmas.

The Osborne Family Spectacle

One comes across millions of glittering lights wrapped around buildings, carousel, Santa etc. These are multi-hued and their brightness changes throughout the show. Further this display is a sight to behold when accompanied by holiday music amidst the divine snowfall in the park.

The history of this display dates back to Little Rock Arkansas in 1986, when a businessman named Jennings Osborne strung up thousand red lights to amuse his six year-old daughter. In 1995, the Osborne family decided to share their magic with the world. Walt Disney World Resort became the new permanent home for this glimmering extravaganza.

Epcot - Holidays around the World

One can enjoy the joyful music, seasonal food and time-honored traditions from eleven different countries of the world. Artists from different countries share their heritage through their performance. For example;
  • America is represented by Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus who celebrate the traditions of Hanukkah.
  • Canada is depicted by the Canadian Holiday Voyageurs on a musical tour. 
  • China is represented by agile Monkey King who celebrates the Chinese New Year.
  • Similarly tales from France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, Norway and United Kingdom are showcased.

Epcot: Candlelight Processional

The Candlelight Processional is an annual event that includes the narration of Biblical tales by a celebrity narrator accompanied by a choir and an orchestra. For the hearing impaired, a sign language interpreter is engaged who translates the legendary account, allowing guests of all kinds to enjoy the event thoroughly.

One can gather around the World Showcase Lagoon to witness the incredible history of earth, The Earth Is Born. The birth begins with flames and fireworks erupting from the lagoon. Beneath a number of heavenly explosions lights blaze on a water body. As the volcanic effects subside, a glowing globe emerges peacefully.

The Triumph of Life- The illuminated surface of the globe reveals the history of evolution and the achievements with time.

Hope for the Future- Comets of light launch into the sky before the globe blossoms like a flower, revealing a torch ablaze with our dreams. A chorus of voices is heard as the entire lagoon dances with bursts of lights.

Magic Kingdom:

Mickey s Very Merry Christmas Party:

This event includes a special Parade, snowfall on main Street character stage shows, cookies with hot cocoa, special Holiday fireworks, and popular park attractions. The party happens on multiple nights starting in mid-November from 7 pm to midnight.
 
Mickey s Once Upon a Christmas Time Parade has a season based theme including a sleigh ride, Fairy Tale Christmas time, toy soldiers, snowflakes, reindeer, Santa and Mrs. Claus. This Parade is part of Mickey s Very Merry Christmas Party. Other major attractions are the tree lighting ceremony, on Main Street, Mickey s Night Before Christmas is held in the Galaxy Palace theatre several times daily, the display of Holiday Wishes fireworks that are synchronized with the music of classic holiday songs and Mickey s Jungle Parade which is a regular feature except the special holiday theme for the season.

These splendid events are breathtaking and must be experienced at least once in a life time.
