According to Hindu mythology while Laxmi is the goddess of fortune, Kuber is the God of wealth. Traditionally Kuber is worshipped by trading or business communities of India and still continue to worship him on Diwali.
Lord Kuber maintains the treasures on earth and protects the riches buried inside the earth. Kuber is well known as ‘the god of Yakshas.’ Kuber is mostly worshipped in the form of Yantra. This powerful Yantra brings distinct change in one’s prosperity and luck.
The followers of all the three religions- Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism worships Kuber. Kuvera is the ancient deities of India who itself are the guardians and protectors of the land like Yaksha. Kuvera is the guardian of North direction of the earth and supervise all the other yakshas.
Mythological conviction says Kuvera is the son of Brahma and is the ruler of Alkapuri. Kuvera is also called Isasakha because he is supposed to be a worshipper of Shiva as well as a close associate of the mighty god.
The much famed king Ravana was his half brother who troubled him a lot, conquered his kingdom, the fabled city-state of Lanka and snatched his Pushpak plane.
His wife is called Yakshi or Hariti meaning ‘the stealer.’ The special puja of Kubera is performed on Dusshera, Dhan triyodasi in addition to Diwali, to ask for his blessings.
Ancient scriptures support Kuber Sadhana for gain of wealth. The pooja of Lord Kuber yields materialistic comforts, the devotee will never have shortage of wealth and his business will flourish. Kuber Sadhana pleases Lord Kuber. Kuber Sadhana is short and simple procedure but it produces amazing effects.
Kuber Sadhana
Requirements for Pooja: Yellow cloth or mat, Rice, Incense, Vermillon, Wooden table, Some fruits, Oil lamp, Crystal Rosary, Copper Kuber Yantra, Mango woods, Ghee, Havan or yagna platform.
Procedure
The Kuber Sadhana ritual is performed on Amavasya day or on any Sunday morning, in -fact before sunrise..
The devotee should wear clean yellow clothes after taking bath with cold water and sit on a yellow mat or facing north. Take a wooden patta and cover it with yellow cloth. Draw a Swastik from kumkum on a steel plate. Light the lamp of ghee and incense sticks. Make a mound of rice on patta and place Kuber yantra over it. Place four different types of fruits around the yantra..
Then prayer is offered to Lord Ganpati by chanting - “Om Gam Ganpataye Namah” eleven times followed by a prayer to your Guru or Lord Shiva for success in the Sadhana..
Now chant –
“Manuj Baahya Vimaanparisthitim Garud Ratna Nibham Nidhi Naayakm. Shiva Sakhaa Mukutaadi Vibhooshitam Var Gade Dahatam Bhaj Tundilam.”.
meditating about the form of Lord Kuber. After this do 8 malas of the following mantra with crystal rosary -.
“Om Yakshaay Kuberaay Dhan Dhaanyaadhipataye Akshaya Nidhi Samriddhim Me Dehi Daapay Swaahaa.”.
Following this, give 108 oblations with ghee in the Yagna fire chanting the above Mantra..
After completion Sadhana, tie all pooja articles except fruits in a yellow cloth and place it in your locker..
Kuber Yantra
Keeping this yantra in house temple, Cash box, almirah and in offices where financial transactions are made brings in the blessing of lord Kuber to the worshipper. It enables the easy inflow of funds and the ability to accumulate wealth. .
The Yantra is made in a way that it totals to 72 on adding from any side..

Kuber Mantra
Mantra of Kubera helps to increase the flow of funds and the ability to accumulate wealth. Kubera Mantra is as follows:.
"Om Yakshyaya Kuberaya Vaishravanaaya Dhanadhanyadi Padayeh Dhana-Dhanya Samreeddhing Me Dehi Dapaya Swaha" .
Meaning: Kubera, the lord of yakshas, bless us with wealth and prosperity.
