Indian Festivals are celebrated by varied cultures and through their special rituals add to the colours of Indian Heritage. Some festivals welcome the seasons of the year, the harvest, the rains, or the full moon. Others celebrate religious occasions, the birthdays of saints and gurus (revered teachers), or the advent of the New Year. A number of these festivals are common to most parts of India. However, they may be called by different names in various parts of the country or may be celebrated in a different fashion

March (Phalgun):

March brings with itself a plethora of celebrations, as the spring season marks its arrival with Chapchar Kut on the first Monday of this month. The festival of colors - Holi, will be celebrated on the 21st of March and the much awaited Holla Mohalla between 22nd-24th March. Both await to spread joy and happiness all over the country welcoming other festivals and fairs in the row

The world renowned Goa Carnival begining from March 02nd will be witnessing live processions of artists and performers from all round the globe.March hosts the auspicious Mahashivratri celebrating the marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Auspicious days of Amalaki Ekadashi, Sheetla Ashtami, Meena Sankranti, Papamochani Ekadashi are also part of this month.
