Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated by the Hindus from all over the world. Hanuman Jayanti celebrations take place at all the Hanuman temples. The temples are decorated every where and devotees visit the temples with Prasad, Flowers and Coconut etc. They offer their prayers to the deity by chanting Hanuman Chalisa and Aarti.
The main celebration takes place at theSalasar Temple which is located in Churu district of Rajasthan nearly 55 Kilo meter from Sikar town. A big mela takes place here on this day and lacs of devotees from all over the world visit the Salasar Temple on this day.
Special parsad known as Sawa Mani- which means 1-1/4 maunds (old Indian unit of nearly 37 or 40 k.g. weight) or nearly 50 k.g. of prasad either of Churma - a Rajasthani dish made of wheat flour , sugar and ghee etc., Laddu or Bundi and Peda is offered.
The devotees offer the prasad to Brahmins before taking it themselves. Special prasad is prepared in many households and a lot of Hanuman devotees observe a fast on this day.
