Numerous people are known to visit the premises along with their unique breeds of livestock due to which tourists across the world visiting Meerut are known to get attracted in a perfect manner.

Several mythological inscriptions have their own versions as to why Nav Chandi Fair is celebrated. According to the legend, it is believed that Mandodari, the wife of Lanka king Ravana, is an ardent devotee of Goddess Chandi and constructed a temple at her place of birth in Meerut in order to honor her.

Owing to this legendary incident, people in and around Meerut are known to observe the festival on a regular basis. Perhaps, most of the locals take pride for continuing the tradition in the most unique manner. Additionally, the festival is associated with the 10 ultimate lessons of Goddess Parvati as well.

King Daksh Prajapati, the father of Goddess Sati, decides to organize a grand feast inviting all kinds and saints with the lone exception of Lord Shiva, who is his son-in-law. Getting angered by such a humiliation, Goddess Sati requestsLord Shiva to attend the event even if not invited. Lord Shiva refuses and this further angers Goddess Sati.

Eventually, she takes the form of a dark energy that proved to be unbearable by the lord. Though he tries to run in 10 different directions, Sati manages to take 10 different forms in each direction. Mother Parvati is the supreme power behind all the 10 forms, which is the actual energy behind Lord Shiva as well.

Goddess Chandi, an incarnation of Parvati, is offered with divine prayers by the worshipers who visit the site in Meerut. Perhaps, a huge gathering is expected with people coming along with their cattle. In fact, there are some others who observe the festival along with their cattle from far off locations of the country. However, people from all regions of Uttar Pradesh are exclusively invited to attend the event to make it a grand success.

As per some tourists, witnessing all the events organized at the fair is a different treat personally. People interested in conducting a business based on livestock will be able to find the occasion as the best instance. It is a common sight that most of the people trade actively in order to secure the best selling and buying deals in a perfect manner.

The sole objective of the event is that people return from the fair extremely satisfied and rejoiced. Considering the immense success of this fair each year, it is organized with more fervor and in a grand way. Both government and private authorities participate and show immense interest in all the events that are organized on a major scale.
